The Orcs' Learn to Share
A gang of six blue orcs had pillaged the home of a farmer and his wife on the outskirts of the kingdom of Rohan. They had taken a wheel of cheese, half a gallon of ale, 19 kg of bacon, two thirds of a loaf of crusty bread and a small purse containing 2 gold pieces, 10 silver and 36 bronze. The orcs have been arguing for some time over how to share this booty. What would each orc's fair share be?

Each orc gets 1/6 of the wheel cheese.
Each orc gets 1/12 of a gallon of ale.
Each orc gets 3 1/6 kg bacon.
Each orc will get 1/6 of 2/3 or 1/9 of a loaf of bread.
2 gp + 10 sp + 36 bp =
200 bp + 100 bp + 36 bp =
336 bp
336 bp ÷ 6 orcs = 56 bp/orc
Each orc gets 5 sp and 6 bp.
